A practical starting point

Build a realistic day from your priorities, available hours and dependencies. A plan should help you choose what to do next.

Write down fixed appointments first, then estimate the effort for three important tasks. Include preparation and travel where relevant. Ask the assistant to flag conflicts rather than silently moving commitments.

Treat the result as a proposal. Check priorities yourself, leave space for interruptions and compare the plan with actual work at the end of the day.

The practical guide below works through a hypothetical example, the decisions to check and a way to review the result. Use it to prepare questions for your own situation; adapt the exercise to the information and tools you are authorised to use.

Write the reason for the day’s first priority in one sentence. An urgent-looking email should not automatically replace a committed customer deadline. AI Task Planning is most useful when you supply the constraints and review the trade-offs. If the incoming workload is hard to understand, start with AI Email Assistants to organise requests before asking for a schedule.
